5 Years of MVMNT: Celebrating the Power of Gratitude and Reflection

As Mobility MVMNT approaches its 5-year anniversary, we couldn't be more grateful for the support of our loyal customers and dedicated team members. We believe that celebrating milestones like this is important for both personal and business growth.

The Benefits of Celebration and Gratitude

In this section, we'll explore the benefits of celebration and gratitude, both for our overall health and wellness and for the success of our business. We'll also share some personal notes about what the last 5 years have been like and share our goals for the future.

Celebration and gratitude are awesome ways to improve both our health and fitness and our business success. Celebrating milestones and accomplishments can help us reflect on how far we have come, look back to see our own progress, and help us acknowledge the small contributions that have had big impacts over time. Being grateful can help us focus on what has gone well, areas for improvement, and even things that we no longer need to put our energy and focus into.

Additionally, celebrating our progress and successes along the way can help us stay motivated and committed to our goals, rather than getting discouraged by setbacks or slow progress. So, whether you're working towards a specific fitness goal or simply striving to live a healthier lifestyle, incorporating celebration and gratitude into your routine can help you stay on track and feel better both mentally and physically.

Personal Reflections

The story of Mobility MVMNT began over five years ago when Crystal, a fitness enthusiast, had the desire to share her passion for helping others improve their health and well-being. As a CSEP Certified Personal Trainer and Mobility Coach, Crystal recognized the importance of mobility, flexibility, and functional movement for overall fitness and wellness, and decided to take her in-person mobility classes online to reach more people.

From humble beginnings, Mobility MVMNT has grown to become a thriving online community and an app offering a wide range of classes and programs designed to help people of all ages and fitness levels achieve their goals. As we reflect on the past five years and celebrate this milestone, we are grateful for the opportunity to serve our community and help people improve their health and well-being through movement and mindful living.

Our Story: The Launch of the Mobility MVMNT

On May 14th, 2018, Mobility MVMNT was born! Crystal, the founder, and CEO, has been the driving force behind the company's success. She's a total boss babe and has overcome some serious hurdles to get where she is today. But she couldn't have done it without the support of her team (shoutout to Val and Jenn!) and her amazing members and customers who've been with her every step of the way.

When Crystal started building the online infrastructure, she had no idea what she was getting into. She was a kinesiologist and fitness enthusiast, not a computer scientist or website developer. To make matters worse, she didn't know the first thing about creating videos for online consumption. We laugh about it now, but back in the day, we tried to DIY our first couple of softboxes for lighting because buying them on Amazon wasn't really a thing yet, and we didn't have much of a budget. But hey, we've come a long way since then!

In 2019, we launched the Mobility MVMNT App, which has become the cornerstone of our business. The app has everything from mobility training and daily stretching to restorative yoga and meditation and is designed to help people of all ages and fitness levels achieve their goals. Our members can access high-quality, on-demand classes anytime, anywhere, making it super easy to prioritize their health and wellness.

Through persistence and hard work, Mobility MVMNT has evolved into a thriving online community and app that offers a wide range of classes and programs to the most amazing members with over 500 videos in the library and ongoing updates to the video production & equipment, Mobility MVMNT is committed to providing the best possible user experience for its members. The success of Mobility MVMNT is a testament to the power of persistence and consistent work in achieving one's goals.

The Evolution of Mobility MVMNT

In this section, we'll discuss how Mobility MVMNT has evolved over the past 5 years, including changes in our branding, offerings, and approach to health and fitness.

From "Lift Heavy Recover Fast" to a Holistic Approach

The original slogan of MVMNT was “Lift Heavy Recover Fast” as Crystal has a passion for strength sports including Olympic weightlifting and Powerlifting. She wanted to utilize her education and knowledge to optimize the Central Nervous system (CNS) through MVMNT to support her fellow strong friends to do what we love; lift heavy. MVMNT has partnered with some amazing athletes, athletes that have been part of team MVMNT are Nadia Y, Etta Love, Rodney Jr, Dani Spegelle, Alison Scudds, Saxon Panchik, and Laurie Mschisnick, Deanna M, Jenn L, Amanda Ruller, etc. We have supported athletic performance in strength sports and CrossFit and play a role in these communities to help them improve their range of motion, movement quality performance and rest, and recovery.

However, in April 2020, Crystal became seriously ill, spent time in the ICU, and faced a long road to recovery. Through the past 3 years as Crystal has been facing the realities of recovering she has realized that her approach to health and fitness needed to evolve. She herself had gone from being a competitive Olympic weightlifting athlete to not being able to walk more than 10 mins without getting short of breath and needing to rest. She began to focus on a more holistic approach to health, incorporating mindfulness, meditation, and breathing exercises into her routine. This change in approach also influenced Mobility MVMNT as a company, leading us to broaden our offerings to include not just mobility and strength training, but also yoga, meditation, and other forms of mindful movement.

As a result, Mobility MVMNT has evolved to become a more comprehensive health and wellness platform, offering a range of classes and programs designed to help people improve their overall health and well-being.

Looking Towards the Future

As we celebrate our 5-year anniversary and reflect on the past, we're also excited to look towards the future of Mobility MVMNT.

Here are a few of our goals for the coming years:

  1. Expand our offerings: We're always looking for new and innovative ways to help our community improve its health and well-being, and we plan to expand our offerings in the coming years to include even more classes and programs.

  2. Improve our user experience: We are hoping to improve our App and include features and functionality that will better support our members in improving their self-care practice and developing a daily habit of movement.

  3. Connect with our community: Pre 2020 Crystal has an ambitious goal to tour around to meet her online community in person at workshops and events. We hope to be able to attend in-person events so we can connect with our community.

As we celebrate our 5-year anniversary, we're excited about what the future holds for Mobility MVMNT. Our goal is to continue to evolve and adapt to the changing needs of our community while staying true to our mission of helping people improve their health and well-being through mindful movement. We plan to continue to offer new and innovative programs and classes through the Mobility MVMNT app, as well as expand our community outreach and partnerships.

Final Thoughts

Celebrating milestones like our 5-year anniversary is not just a chance to reflect on our accomplishments, but also an opportunity to express gratitude for the people who have supported us along the way. While we take pride in our successful partnerships with high-level athletes, such as CrossFit Games athletes and weightlifting champions, what truly sets MVMNT apart is the bond we create with our non-elite members. Our community is composed of individuals from all walks of life, including desk workers, nurses, teachers, lawyers, students, and service workers. We value each member as a partner on their well-being journey. We are grateful for the support of our members, team members, and partners, and look forward to continuing to serve our community for years to come. Thank you for being a part of the Mobility MVMNT journey!
